Fifty years on from the first moon landing, Inside Out Dorset Festival (produced by Activate) joined forces with b-side festival and Bournemouth Arts by the Sea as the Dorset Festivals Consortium, to present ‘Dorset Moon’. This was made possible by The Arts Development Company who commissioned ‘Dorset Moon’ using funding from The European Regional Development Fund and Arts Council England.

Over three weekends more than 41,000 people enjoyed Luke Jerram’s monumental ‘Museum of the Moon’ installation in three stunning locations – St Peter’s Church, Bournemouth; Sherborne Abbey and the Nothe Fort at Weymouth.

 

I was the Associate Producer on the Bournemouth site (produced by Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival) and the Sherborne site (Produced by Activate Performing Arts). The presentation of ‘The Museum of the Moon’ was complemented by a series of programmed associated events, including: eight new commissions from emerging artists, presentations from two established artists, a Silent Disco and morning Yoga under the moon. I produced four of these new works, developed and managed partnerships, supported artists, led on Access and co-managed the public events.
