Pop-up Opera are a touring opera company, who simply put, pop up for one-night only performances, to an array of unusual locations and venues, in a bid to make opera more accessible and fun. You can find them performing in anything from breweries and vineyards to barns, churches and caves!

I worked with Pop-up Opera on a 9 month maternity contract as Producer, co-producing their 2016 touring season, which travelled to over 60 venues between March and October. The work which they make is not only critically acclaimed, but frankly rather fun. I also supported the costume design and sourcing for the Spring tour of Bellini's Il Capuleti e i Montecchi - set in 80's Mafia territory. There was also some film of this production created by the BBC for their 'Shakespeare Lives' programme.

My role included liaising with venues - including building relationships with new venues - negotiating fees, creating and delivering the marketing strategy for the tour, supported rehearsals, covered administration including contracting and website updates, worked with our PR agency and supported in 2017-18 planning.
